Investing in the Next Generation: Introducing the ROCO Apprenticeship & Recruitment Programme
At ROCO, we believe the future of engineering and manufacturing starts with investing in people. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our ROCO Apprenticeship & Recruitment Programme – a hands-on initiative designed to develop the next generation of skilled engineers and manufacturing professionals.
Our newest recruits have joined the business and are already gaining valuable experience by working alongside some of the most knowledgeable and experienced members of the ROCO team. Through structured mentoring, practical training and exposure to our lean manufacturing environment, they are building the skills and confidence needed for a successful career.

Meet Our New Apprentices and Their Mentors
Our latest apprentices have each been paired with experienced mentors who will guide and support them throughout their journey:
- Aaron Mulligan – Fitting Apprentice, mentored by Brandon Nelson, Screener Team Leader
- John Woods – Fitting Apprentice, mentored by Avaras Urbanavicius, Crusher Team Leader
- Aaron Spare – Fitting Apprentice, mentored by Karol Gardiner, R&D Manager
- Daithi Hegarty – Stores Apprentice, mentored by Brian Thornbury, Stores & Parts Manager
The knowledge and experience our mentors bring are invaluable. Passing these skills on to the next generation ensures our apprentices receive the best possible start to their careers while helping preserve the high standards and expertise that define ROCO.
Every apprentice follows a structured training plan tailored to their department, with continuous development, practical learning and regular progress reviews. Health and safety also forms a core part of the programme, with ongoing guidance and awareness delivered by our Health & Safety Manager, Mark Larkin, ensuring every team member develops safe working practices from day one.

Building Long-Term Careers
The apprenticeship programme isn’t just about today’s opportunities—it’s about building careers for the future.
A great example of this is Ethan Reilly and Dominic Kelly, who both began their journeys at ROCO and have since progressed into Design Engineer roles. Working alongside their mentor, Jonathan McGovern, they have developed into highly valued members of the engineering team, demonstrating exactly what can be achieved through dedication, support and continuous learning.
Their success reflects ROCO’s commitment to nurturing talent from within and providing genuine career progression opportunities across the business.
